Ternopil Pentode Preamp is inspired by the iconic pentode channel of the Vox AC15; it delivers classic tube warmth and responsiveness. Surprisingly, it achieves 200+ volts for the subminiature Soviet pentode tube (6Ж45Б-В) directly from a 9V power supply. Shape your sound with a simple Gain knob and two toggle switches for bass and treble boost. Perfect for adding rich tube character to your rig or pushing your amp into sweet overdrive.
Controls
- Gain - the amount of gain.
- Shift switch - controls the bass response. In normal mode, it passes all low frequencies or cuts them in shift mode.
- Brilliance switch - controls treble response. It passes all high frequencies in brilliance mode or cuts in normal mode.
- LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB trimmer allows you to adjust the status LED brightness.
Power supply
Power Supply: 9V DC adapter (Boss-style negative center) not included. 350mA minimum. No batteries. They are bad for the environment 🌲 and won't last long in this circuit.
Don't try to power the pedal with voltages higher than 9V - this will damage the electronics. The pedal uses a voltage boost circuit to provide high-voltage power for the tube. Don't open the pedal when powered; there are 200+ voltages running inside ⚡️⚡️.
