2. What Information We Collect & Why

We believe in data minimization. We only collect the information strictly necessary to provide you with our products, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone. Under the GDPR, we process data based on the following legal grounds:

  • To Process Your Orders: When you buy a pedal, we collect your name, billing/shipping address, email, and phone number to fulfill your purchase and arrange shipping. This data is securely processed and stored by our e-commerce platform, Shopify. (Legal basis: Performance of a Contract & Legal Obligation for tax purposes).
  • To Provide Customer Support: We collect information you share when contacting us regarding orders, repairs, or inquiries. (Legal basis: Performance of a Contract & Legitimate Interest).
  • Website Analytics: We use basic, aggregated Shopify Analytics to understand general store traffic and ensure the site functions correctly. We do not use invasive third-party tracking or profile our users. (Legal basis: Legitimate Interest).

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your information with trusted third-party services that are essential to running our store:

  • E-commerce Platform: Our store is hosted on Shopify. They provide the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you, and they securely store your customer and order data on our behalf.
  • Payment Processors: We use secure third-party gateways to process your payments safely. We never see or store your raw credit card details.
  • Shipping Providers: We share your name, address, and phone number with couriers (e.g., Polish Post, DPD, InPost, UPS) solely to deliver your gear.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, such as for tax audits or to comply with legal requests.

4. International Data Transfers

Because our Site is hosted by Shopify, your data is transferred to and stored on their secure servers, which may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), such as in North America. Shopify ensures these transfers are legally protected by recognized mechanisms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

5. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary. Order and billing information is retained for up to 5 years to comply with Polish accounting and tax laws. If you create an account, your data remains stored securely by Shopify until you ask us to delete it.

6. Your Privacy Rights

You have full control over your data. Depending on your location, including the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we erase your data, subject to legal tax retention requirements.
  • Restriction: Ask us to limit the processing of your data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at info@drunk-beaver.rocks. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We do not use aggressive tracking cookies for retargeting or advertising. We only use essential cookies required for the basic functionality of our store (such as keeping items in your shopping cart, allowing you to log in securely, and processing the checkout) alongside basic Shopify analytics. For detailed information on the specific functional cookies Shopify places on your device, please visit Shopify's Cookie Policy. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, but note that the checkout process will not function properly without essential cookies.

8. Complaints

If you have any concerns about how we handle your data, please reach out to us first so we can make it right. If you are an EU resident and remain unsatisfied, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych - PUODO) or your local data protection authority.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post any updates on this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top.
