Reimagined Boss FZ-3 with enhanced mids shaping and increased output
Description
Drunk Beaver Ivano-Frankivsk Fuzz breathes new life into the rare and discontinued Boss FZ-3 fuzz pedal. While staying true to the original's thick, saturated tone, we've added a 3-position toggle switch to shape the mids response. Choose from "Stock" for the classic flat mids, "Boosted" for a subtle mid bump, or "Scooped" for a Big Muff-style midrange. We've also replaced the output buffer with a gain recovery stage for increased output volume and sustain. To preserve the FZ-3's unique character, we've carefully selected Toshiba SMD transistors with the exact specifications as the original THD Toshiba components. Whether chasing vintage fuzz tones or seeking modern versatility, the Ivano-Frankivsk Fuzz delivers.
Controls
- Fuzz - the amount of gain.
- Tone - the balance between bass and treble frequencies.
- Level - output volume.
- Tone toggle - alters tone potentiometer response: Stock (flat mids), Boosted (a slight mids boost), and Scooped (Big Muff-style scooped mids).
- LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB trimmer allows you to adjust the status LED brightness.
