Fuzz Master
A modern take on the Maestro FZ-1S
Description
Fuzz Master is a modern take on the vintage Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-1S, utilizing low-noise MPSA18 transistors for buffer/mixing signals, and NOS TFK BC109C transistors for the gain stages. The pedal features a mod that allows for switching signal clipping using 2N2222 transistors (the same as in the Maestro one), red LEDs, and NOS Germanium diodes. The pedal utilizes soft footswitches in conjunction with an ATtiny microcontroller and relays for switching between bypass and mode. In addition to turning the pedal on and off or changing the fuzz mode, it allows you to temporarily enable/disable it using a long press (lasting longer than 350ms).
Controls
- Volume - effect output level.
- Balance - mixes the clean signal with fuzz.
- Sustain - controls the amount of gain.
- Voice switch - toggles tree clipping options: Classic (2N2222 transistors, same as in Maestro one), Loud (red LEDs), and Smooth (NOS Germanium) diodes.
- LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB, allows you to adjust the status LED brightness.
