Bashtanka Muff

Bashtanka Muff is our uncompromising, boutique take on the recently unearthed "Big Muff 2" dual op-amp circuit. We took this legendary "lost" 1970s schematic and elevated it with premium through-hole (THD) construction for maximum fidelity. At its core, the gain stages are driven by NOS MC4558 op-amps, paired with a vintage Motorola MC1748 to provide rock-solid VR power supply buffering. To deliver that crushing, aggressive saturation unique to the BM2, we utilized rare NOS TFK SAL41 dual silicon diodes in the clipping stages. While the stock Big Muff 2 is known for its heavy, sludge-inducing mid scoop, we know that sometimes you need to cut through a dense mix. That’s why we added a dedicated tone toggle: keep it in the "Stock" position for the classic scooped roar, or flip it to the "Filter" mode—a custom low-pass filter that flattens the EQ and completely removes the mid-scoop, making it an unstoppable force for heavy riffing and soaring leads.

• EQ toggle - Filter (tone control acts as lowpass filter with wide-open mids), Stock (deep mid scoop).
• LED brightness trimmer - placed on the PCB trimmer allows you to adjust the status LED brightness.
